This exotic fruit is among the oldest and most know in the world, is found in all seasons and tastes sweet and aromatic. It is very good to know that bananas has important nutrients that can improve our health.

Bananas are one of the best sources of potassium, an essential mineral that keeps our normal blood pressure and proper function of the heart. Because it contains 467 mg of potassium and only 1 mg of sodium, a banana a day helps to increase blood pressure and protects against atherosclerosis.

It has been proved that those who have a diet rich in potassium, and they also consumed foods high in magnesium and fiber, has a substantial reduction in the risk of making a heart attack.

A large banana (25 cm) contains 602 mg of potassium and only 140 calories, 2g of protein, 4g of fiber and 36 grams of carbohydrate. No wonder the banana is considered an important food for healthy children.
