Who first said the phrase “necessary evil”, probably thought about pain. Nobody wants it, but it is necessary, and this is the body’s method to signal that something is wrong with us.
The most terrible headache of your life
Go to the doctor immediately! If you’re cold, pain can be caused by sinuses. But it is possible to be a brain hemorrhage or a brain tumor. For any severe head pain you have to go to the doctor to find out about the true causes.
Pain or discomfort in the chest, neck or shoulders
Sudden pain in the chest can signal a heart attack or pneumonia. You have to be careful because most often a disease of the heart is not manifested by pain, but through a chest discomfort. Do not wait for pain to seek the advice of a doctor.
A chest discomfort for a prolonged period of time should give you pause for thought. Most patients with heart problems say they feel a kind of pressure on their chest. Other signs that indicate heart problems are pain in the sternum, pain in the neck or left shoulder and may be accompanied by dizziness.
Age is an important indicator, so if in young people up to 20 years, pain may be a consequence of intense physical activity. For older people, which shows an increased risk of developing heart problems, the above signals have to determine you to see the doctor.
Intermittent pain should be taken seriously as well
Maybe there is a pattern that would occur depending on the pain. For example, discomfort can occur with strong emotions, stress or excitement and you can see when you put an emphasis on effort and improvement when you’re at rest. It may increase when the weather is very hot or cold.
For women, the appearance of signs of heart disease may be more subtle than men and are often masked by symptoms of menopause signs that can be easily confused with intestinal problems, such as bloating or abdominal discomfort. A bad heart condition is often associated with fatigue and this dramatically increase the risks with the menopause. More women die of heart disease than men, although the latter shows an increased risk at any age.
Severe abdominal pain
Still have appendix? Do not spend much thought if there is a strong pain in the abdomen, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Go to the emergency to avoid complications. Pancreas problems, stomach ulcers and bowel disorders are some causes of abdominal pain and requires immediate medical care!
Persistent pain in legs
A little known hazard to most of us is deep venous thrombosis – a blood clot forming in a blood vessel in the leg. The danger is that a small portion of the clot can break loose and reach the lungs, causing pulmonary embolism, that is obstruction of the pulmonary arteries, which can be fatal. Obesity, immobility due to a prolonged bed rest or long trips, pregnancy and advanced age are among the main risk factors.
