Healing the royal official’s son in Capernaum in John 4:46-54
In the Gospel of John, Jesus Christ performs a miracle that brings healing to the son of a royal official. This event takes place at Capernaum, and it is the sixth miracle that is recorded in this gospel.
The story begins with the official coming to Jesus and asking him to come and heal his son, who was at home sick and close to death. Jesus responds by saying that he will go and heal the boy if the official believes in him. The man does believe, and so Jesus accompanies him back to his house.
When they arrive, Jesus tells the boy’s mother that her son will live. And indeed, the boy does recover and lives. This miracle not only brings physical healing but also spiritual healing, as it leads both the royal official and his whole household to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Healing the paralytic at Bethesda in John 5:1-15
One of the six miracles that God performs in the Bible is healing the paralytic at Bethesda. This miracle is found in John 5: 1-15. In this passage, we see that Jesus had come to Jerusalem and was teaching in the temple courts. The people were amazed at His teaching because He spoke with authority and not like the teachers of the law.
As Jesus was leaving the temple, He was met by a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. The man begged Jesus to heal him but Jesus told him to stand up and walk. The man did as he was told and he was healed instantly!
The people who saw this miracle were filled with wonder and praise for God. They recognized that this was a powerful act of God and they gave Him all the glory!
Feeding the 5000 in John 6:5-14
On a hot day, a large crowd had been following Jesus as He preached. When it began to grow late, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a remote place and it’s already very late.
Dismiss the crowd so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”
Jesus replied, “You feed them.” But they answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish-unless we go and buy food for everyone here.” (About 5,000 men were present.) Then Jesus said,”Sit down in groups of about fifty each.” So the people sat down in groups of fifty or more.
Jesus then took the five loaves of bread and two fish, looked up toward heaven, blessed them, broke the loaves into pieces [and] gave them to His disciples so they could begin passing them out among the seated people. He also divided up the two fish among everyone. They all ate as much as they wanted; afterward twelve baskets of leftover breadcrumbs[a] were gathered up-more than enough for those who had eaten.
Jesus walking on water in John 6:16-24
In John 6:16-24, we see one of the most well-known miracles of Jesus – walking on water. This miracle demonstrates Jesus’ power over nature and his authority as the Son of God.
When the disciples saw Jesus walking on water, they were terrified and thought he was a ghost. But Jesus reassured them, saying “It is I; don’t be afraid.” Then Peter called out to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come out to you on the water.”
Jesus responded, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind blowing and the waves crashing around him, he was afraid and began to sink. “Save me Lord!” he cried.
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him. “You have so little faith,” he said. “Why did you doubt?”
Then they climbed into the boat together and The wind died down. The disciples worshiped Jesus saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
This miracle shows us that even when we are afraid or doubting, we can always call on Jesus for help. He is always there for us – ready to catch us when we fall.
Healing the man blind from birth in John 9:1-7
One of the most moving and miraculous stories in the Bible is that of Jesus healing a man blind from birth. This event is found in John 9:1-7 and tells of how Jesus, moved with compassion, healed a man who had never seen the light of day.
The story begins with Jesus and His disciples approaching a man who was born blind. The disciples asked Jesus if the man’s blindness was due to his own sin or that of his parents.Jesus replied that it was neither, but that the man’s blindness was an opportunity for God to be glorified.
Jesus then spat on the ground, made mud with His saliva, and applied the mud to the blind man’s eyes. He told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. When he did as he was told, he came back seeing!
The people around him were amazed and started asking questions about how this could have happened. The blind man himself could hardly believe it! He testified to what had happened and gave all glory to God. As a result, many people came to believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord!
This miracle story is so powerful because it shows us that no matter what our circumstances are, no matter how hopeless we may feel, God can always bring hope and healing into our lives. Just like He did for this man born blind!
