Olive oil is used as an herbal remedy to treat various diseases such as rheumatism, arthritis, liver disease and gall, bloating, heartburn, gastritis and more. Learn how to prepare these recipes with natural olive oil.

According to recent data, more and more people tend to consume olive oil. Before choosing a olive oil, you should know that there are three main types:

a. Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Preserves the natural flavor of the fruit, with an acidity of less than 0.8%.

b. Olive Oil – Blend of refined olive oils and virgin olive oils. Have an acidity of less than 1% and conforms to typical standards.

c. Pomacea / Sansa Olive Oil – Made from olive pulp, has an acid content not exceeding 1% and conforms to typical standards.

How To Choose A Quality Olive Oil?

1. Extra virgin olive oil retains all the nutritional qualities as it is obtained by cold pressing of olives picked to be applied without any treatment.

2. Acidity of olive oil must be below 0.8%. Undoubtedly, the best extra virgin olive oil is, made directly from olives and has an acidity below 0.8%.

3. The color says nothing about the quality of the chosen product. It varies depending on the type used for pressing olives. A good shade of olive oil can range from green (if it has chlorophyll as the main element), to yellow gold (if it has carotene).

4. Research has shown that the pure olive oil is the point of burning (fat point where structure begins to change) at about 220 degrees Celsius. Palm oil has the highest burning point (240 degrees Celsius).

Olive Oil And Universal Medical Uses:

Many illnesses can be treated or ameliorated using recipes that are based on olive oil. There are a few olive oil recipes that you can cook at home in case of emergency:

For Eczema – Make a paste of fresh basil leaves with extra virgin olive oil and apply to the affected area.

For Shingles – Melt in a bowl 100 grams of beeswax, 25 grams of tree resin and 250 grams of butter, this is added in the final 50 ml extra virgin olive oil. The composition will be strain, mix with a wooden spoon for cooling, is kept cold in a glass container and apply on affected area 3 times per day.

For Burns – Given the significant amount of vitamin E in olive oil, can regenerate damaged skin burns more quickly if you apply olive oil mixed with white eggs.

For Gastritis, Peptic Ulcer, Liver – A teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil taken before each meal to protect against stomach ulcers and gastritis. It is recommended that after ingestion of oil to lie down for one hour and a half on the right side.

For Bloating and Heartburn – Mix 250 ml of cold pressed olive oil with 1 kg of honey and 4 chopped lemons. Composition is kept in the fridge and take three spoons a day 30 minutes before meals.

For Gall Stones – For 10 days every morning on an empty stomach take a teaspoon of dried watermelon seeds, grinders and mixed with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, then lying on the right side for 20 minutes. The treatment lasts three months, 10 days per month.

For Osteoarthritis – With warm olive oil and lemon juice massage the painful joints. You can also make a mixture of olive oil with walnut leaf that is applied to the painful spot.

For Rheumatism – Place 8 spoons of ground black pepper in a quart of brandy and leave to soak for 5-7 days. Filter this solution and massage the painful areas 2-3 times daily.

For Spine Problems – Painful areas are massaged with olive oil mixed with chilli powder.
